Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine is Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing a musical career singing and playing the piano at the church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan and has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become the mainstay of her live set. Also, she contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005 she took on the role of the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the choir leader of the production. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
